This piece came out of an exploration of sacred geometry. Sacred geometry ascribes symbolic and sacred meanings to certain geometric shapes and proportions. I don't believe that these fun and artistic math shapes point to anything divine, but it is an interesting subject to delve into. 

Sacred geometry symbols can be found on ancient architecture, on sculptures, and in art. According to Greek mythology, Athena, the goddess of wisdom, taught mathematics to Prometheus to give math to the humans. Thus, I named this exploration of math and symbols after the wise, mythological diety.
